“Morphology” Series
This series grew out of my ongoing fascination with rearranging individual components of
everyday objects to create unlikely parings resulting in new ways to reinterpret their original forms.
I’m transfixed by the myriad details of the most common of things in our lives.
The fundamental characteristics and patterns of how things are put together and –
how they come apart – provide the pathway for flea market treasures to be reborn as sculptures.
Patinas, dents, dings and detritus of our daily lives are my palette.
These sculptures honor the craftsmanship of the original objects along with their
age-related blemishes allowing an opportunity to be appreciated anew.
